Archimandrite Istin (Popovich, 1894-1979) is one of the greatest carriers of the living tradition of the Church in the twentieth century. The outstanding theologian, who combined the novelty of the language with the tradition of patristic thought, he belonged to those rare personalities, whose theology is reinforced by his own ascetic boldness, and the thought grows from a spiritual feat. The acquisition of the "mind of Christ" and following along the god -human path became the main content of both His life and His thoughts. His authority became unquestioned both in the Serbian Church and beyond, and many people revered him as a saint long before the official canonization in 2010
