Nikolai Kuzmich Simakov is a church historian, publicist and public figure, participant in the Orthodox -monarchical movement in St. Petersburg, philosopher, professor of the International Slavic Academy, author of programs on the history of Orthodoxy, the Russian Church, the shrines of the East, about the Russian thinkers and the Metropolitan of God by mercy - Lord Ioanna ( Snychev) N.K. Simakov is the organizer of pilgrimage trips to the Orthodox monasteries of St. Russia and to the Holy Land, teaches at the History Faculty of St. Petersburg University.
The presented book includes notes of a modern pilgrim, which were written in different years. In them, the author shares what he saw during travel in holy places. In his opinion, the pilgrimage helps to discover the modern person what spiritual life is in Christ and how can you practically join it.
