Since 1936, in his death in 1960, Professor Archimandrite Kiprian (Kern) taught at the department of pastoral theology at the Orthodox St. Sergius Institute in Paris. The course of his lectures was first published in Paris in 1957. Repeatedly reprinted since then, he now remains, perhaps, the best of the existing courses of pastoral theology, more than many oriented to the problems of today.
