The author’s concept of ontology of religion as the theoretical nucleus of the philosophy of religion is presented. The basic concepts and principles of religion ontology are discussed. Through the relationship of the categories of absolute and relative, alienation and development, the essence of religion is determined. Topics as the idea of God, alternative teachings about the creation of the world, evidence of the existence of God, the conjugation of eternity and time, the law of nature, philosophical and religious models of man are studied.
