The book is devoted to the study of the life and works of St. Clement of Ohrid, one of the associates of the SV. Cyril and Methodius, also about the fate of his book heritage, which had a noticeable influence on the development of the spiritual culture of Ancient Russia. Clement of Ohrid entered the circle of "seven -membranes", which include SVV. Cyril and Methodius, closest students and successors of the work of the great Byzantine enlighteners: Horazd, Clement, Savva, Naum and Angular - Equal -to -the -Apostles creators of Slavic writing. Clement collaborated with them from an early youth and devoted a majority of independent activity to the spiritual education of the Slavic peoples. The fate of the creative heritage of Clement of Ohrid is closely intertwined with the fate of the states and peoples of Central and Southern Europe, showing an example of intercultural communication and mutual influence of civilizations. The historical path of his works, including in ancient Russian culture, is an example of the spread of universal intellectual and spiritual values that form a picture of the world and ensure the continuity of the mental attitudes of the Byzantine circle. The book is addressed to historians, philologists and philosophers, as well as all those interested in the spiritual culture of the Middle Ages
