Saint Simeon Solunsky is the last archbishop of Thessalonik before capturing them by the Turks. Six months after the death of the Saint, Thessaloniki fell and the Cathedral Church of St. Sophia was turned into a mosque. However, while St. Simeon was alive, the city was faithful to its emperor and Orthodoxy.
Saint Simeon is rightfully considered the greatest Byzantine liturgist. His most famous creation "Talking about the Holy Holy Priests and the Sacraments of Church" is well known to the Orthodox reader. In it, Saint Simeon explains the symbolism and meaning of the sacrifices committed in the temple, interpreting the worship with a mystical, symbolic, as well as a historical point of view.
The book is designed for a wide range of readers. It will be interesting to everyone who loves worship and is interested in its history.
It is recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church IS R17-708-3159
