Book A.V. Kartasheva "Old Testament Biblical Criticism" is a reprint of the famous report, which was read by the author of February 13, 1944 at the Parisian Sergius Theological Institute. Due to the difficulties of the military and post -war periods, the report of Kartashev was published only in 1947 - at the YMCA -Press publishing house in Paris, a small circulation. This publication has long become a bibliographic rarity. There was no complete reprint of the report Kartashev.
The book is equipped with a brief certificate of a bibliographic nature dedicated to the life and activity of A.V. Kartashev and the preface of the Metropolitan Ilarion of Volokolamsk (Alfeeva): "... without a doubt, philological studies of the Bible help us restore the historical context of the Holy Scriptures, it is better to understand how the words of Scripture were perceived by his first readers and listeners.
