The collection of articles of modern Russian and foreign researchers is devoted to various problems of the history of Western Christianity from late -mean to the modern era. Particular attention in it is paid to the Latin early Christian and medieval theological traditions, including in their correlation with the heritage of the Byzantine East, crisis phenomena in the framework of modern Catholicism and the Anglican community, as well as the history of the papacy in the XX - XXI centuries. The articles of the collection precedes the interview with the professor of the department of universal history of PSTGU B.A. Filippov, in which he talks about both his scientific path and the approach to the study of Western Christianity.
