Alexander Vasilievich Pobilev (1857-1936), a revolutionary, was in the Party People’s Volya, since 1904-in the ranks of socialist-revolutionaries, a public figure, a bacteriologist. He studied at the Medical and Surgical Academy, carried out propaganda work among students, participated in the preparation of attempts. He was sentenced at the process of seventeen to hard labor, placed in a Kari prison, and later lived in different cities of the Trans -Baikal region.
Notes cover the period of the 1870-1900s, when revolutionary ideas covered most of the intelligent youth: the author tells about the bright and tragic fate of his comrades, frankly talks about prison and hard labor, notes the consequences of the penetration of Marxist ideas on the environment .
