The author of the essay is the Orthodox Finnish writer Tito Collinder (1904–1989), who wrote more than one book about Orthodoxy. The “narrow path” was published in the Swedish language and was a great success in the Scandinavian countries, not only among the Orthodox, but also among the ugly readers.
