The memoirs of the wife of the outstanding shepherd and theologian of the 20th century Alexander Shmeman Ulyana Sergeyevna Shmeman (1923-2017) describe the life of Fr. Alexander from his very birth, but, of course, the most interesting pages are devoted to what she herself was witness. The application to the memoirs publishes the first translation into the Russian language of the small book of Ulyana Shmeman "The Joy of Service", in which she summarizes her thoughts about life, about the service of the priest’s wife - and indeed women - in the church and the family. The book is addressed to a wide reader.
