Biographies of 11 patriarchs with their portraits: DOV, Germogen, Filaret, Josaf 1st, Joseph, Nikon, Josaf 2nd, Pitim, Joachim, Adrian and False-Polish Ignatius. Archimandrite Apollos (in the world Alexey Maksimovich Alekseevsky, 1778 - 1859) - archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church, rector of the Novospassky monastery, dean of Moscow monasteries and rector of Moscow schools. Born in the village of Zabrya of the Chernihiv province in the family of a priest. Educated in Novgorod-Seversky, Chernihiv and Alexander Nevsky seminary. On March 21, 1803, he took monastic tonsure with the name Apollos. On April 6, 1803 he was ordained hierodeacon, on January 13, 1804 - in Hieromonk. On May 17, 1805, he was appointed rector of the Beijing Sretensky Monastery with the construction of Archimandrite and sent to the Beijing Spiritual Mission. He did not reach Beijing, stayed in Irkutsk. Since 1807 - a teacher of theology in the Irkutsk seminary. In 1808 he became the rector of the Irkutsk Voznesensky
