Rabbi Moshe Ben Maymon (Rambam, 1138-1204) - the greatest Jewish sage of the postalmudic era: legislator, philosopher, scientist and doctor. His Code Mishnah Torah ("Repetition of the Teaching") is one of the most important works of Jewish tradition. In the most extensive of his works, the Rambam summarizes and systematizes the Talmudic tradition and in an accessible form sets out the entire set of Jewish religious legislation - Galahi. The first book of Torah, "Knowledge", includes the "fundamental laws of the Torah", "laws on character traits", "laws on the study of the Torah", I "Laws on idolatry" and "laws of remorse."
