Adrian Moiseevich Gribovsky (1767–1834), writer, translator, secretary of Catherine II in the last year of her reign, was in the service of G.A. Potemkin, then with P.A. Zubov, he took part in solving a number of issues of internal politicians. In his notes, he gave a detailed description of the most significant figures at the court of Catherine II, listed the main events of her reign, as well as the habits and lifestyle of the empress. In the diaries for 1825–1833, written after leaving the service, Gribovsky spoke about the daily life of St. Petersburg and Moscow, interesting books and journal publications, expressed his attitude to serfdom and political events of that time.
