Matrimonial strategies of the Orthodox clergy of Central Russia at the end of the 18th century (based on the materials of the Tver diocese).
The monograph contains an analysis of the data on marriage unions of the Holy Church Conditions of the Tver diocese during the completion of the formation of the "spiritual" estate in Russia. The main source of the study was the fairy tales of the 5th revision conducted in 1795, including information about more than 2,900 marriages of urban and rural clerics and members of their families concluded since the previous 4th revision of 1782. This information, supplemented by information from paperwork Materials of the spiritual consistory, allowed to study in detail the nature of the matrimonial ties of the clergy, features of intra -navigable and intermediary marriages, issues of inheritance of parish places and many other aspects of the social history of the clergy. The conclusions formulated in monographs based on the analysis of data on the Tver Holy Church Professors can be largely extended to all the clergy of central Russia due to many similar factors characterizing the history of the dioceses of this region
