Saint Dimitri Rostov (1651-1709)-Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl, Spiritual writer, author of the famous "Lives of the Saints" (Chety-Mine) He began the compilation of the lives of saints in 1684, giving this cause more than twenty years of his life and, after graduating, devoting himself to pastoral service, as well as the training of future priests. For his colossal contribution to the history of the Church, half a century after the death, he was counted to the Holy of Saints.
Thanks to lives, one can trace the history of the development of the Christian Church and feel the spirit of saints who aroused faith in the Slavic peoples.
This publication is a new set of pre-revolutionary text printed in the Moscow Synodal Printing house in 1904-1911, in modern spelling with re-selected illustrations. Quotes from the Holy Scriptures are given, with the exception of some, in Russian (synodal translation) A list of ancient measures and monetary units has been attached
