Archimandrite Emilian (Vafidis 1934-2019) is one of the amazing ascetics of our time. Always joyful, friendly and noble, the elder, his strength and desires were completely directed to the monastic life, its revival and renewal. Nights conducting in vigil and constant prayer, he carefully examined the patristic works and texts of the organization and life of Orthodox monasticism. Father Emilian gave all the forces of his soul to clergy.
Regardless of whether we feel God"s presence or forget about God, reached God"s knowledge or immersed in ignorance, live in sin or strive for holiness - the Lord is alive. And, if so, then for each of us hope is never lost, we can be sure of the Lord.
