Apollos (Alexey Maksimovich Alekseevsky, 1778–1859) - archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church, rector of the Novospassky monastery, as well as the dean of Moscow monasteries and rector of Moscow schools. He wrote the most complete essay about the famous founder of the Resurrection Monastery Nikon, whose church reforms led to the split of the Russian Church and the emergence of the Old Believers.
