Blessed memory Elder Paisius enjoys great famous and veneration in the whole Orthodox world. This book is a collection of letters addressed to the sisters of the monastery of St. Apostle and the Evangelist John the Theologian in Suroti (Thessaloniki), whose founder he was and whose inhabitants spiritually nourished until his death. The main attention in these letters is given to monastic life, and who have stepped on the path of a foreigner or preparing for this will find for themselves a non -intensive treasure of spiritual experience and wise instructions that help in the matter of salvation of the soul. Pious laity can also get great benefits from reading letters, because, according to the old man, the gospel ideal and the commandments of Christ are one for all of us. The elder’s teachings are imbued with the truly patristic spirit and convey the most important spiritual truths, for he deeply perceived and embodied the teachings of the Holy Fathers in his own life. They are written in simple language, with wit and sometimes with humor. The elder often uses comparisons, metaphors and play of words, expressing his thoughts peculiar and bright.
