L.N. Tolstoy has repeatedly said that his correspondence with A.A. Tolstoy, his cousin, is important for those who may be interested in "his personality. The events of the Yasnaya Polyan life of the family, shocks, sorrows and joys, hobbies of the school, work "on hunger", thoughts about the fate of Russia, irreconcilable religious disputes, literary ideas - this almost half -century correspondence has been absorbed. Published for the first time in 1911, a book of letters L.N. Tolstoy and A.A. Tolstoy was highly appreciated by contemporaries who called her "frank and purest evidence of spiritual communication", and Tolstoy himself considered her his best autobiography. The main section of the new publication included 264 letters: 135 letters L.N. Tolstoy (16 of them were not included in the first edition) and 129 letters A.A. Tolstoy (61 Letters are published for the first time) The “Additions” section includes a previously not published correspondence of A.A. Tolstoy with S.A.
