Despite numerous publications on Islamic topics, including in form of reference in nature, the need for the educated part of Russian society in professional knowledge about Islam and Muslims remains relevant.
Methodologically and structurally, the 5th release is similar to previously published outputs. The material contained in the articles covers different forms of existence of Islam in the territory of the former Russian Empire to the present day.
This issue includes 78 articles of 26 authors from Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory, Ufa, Kazan, Makhachkala, Astrakhan), Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Bukhara, Kokand), Azerbaijan (Baku), the Netherlands (Amsterdam ), USA (Maryland), Latvia (Riga), France (Paris) As in previous issues, this presents the variety of forms of existence of Islam in different regions of Russia (Central-European part, North Caucasus, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Astrakhan Territory), Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan), Azerbaijan. The topics of articles are also widely represented - personalities, cult places, architectural monuments, terminology, writing monuments, rituals, etc.
