“The Church Slavonic language that is now used in liturgical practice is unconditionally beautiful and adapted to it as much as possible,” wrote the famous translator of liturgical texts of the Orthodox Church, father of Ambrose (Timrot) “But even among the clergy there are hardly many those who fully understand everything that is read and sung in the temple.” And even more so, the translation of everyday prayers is relevant for people who began their spiritual life recently. For this, our sensible prayer book was released, compiled by publication for public schools, which saw the light in 1914, which was thoroughly adapted to the modern Russian language.
