A small work "Interpretation on the 50th Psalm" of the Blessed Theodorite, Bishop of Kirsky (373-466), is an excerpt from his large work "Interpretation of one hundred and fifty psalms". This 50th psalm or, as it is customary to call it, repentant, although it was pronounced by the holy prophet David for a specific reason, but, undoubtedly, became the most striking expression of the repentant mood of all souls in any era. The frequent reading of this psalm for church worships and in home prayer is also connected with this. The cited explanation of this psalm Blzh. Feodorite of Kirsky will help to better understand the meaning of his lines - both historical and theological, and therefore, even deeper and conscious to penetrate his repentant mood.
