The book "Instructions on Nibban" was written by the venerable Mahathera Lady Sayado, who is known as one of the most outstanding Buddhist teachers of his era, and is devoted to the discussion of the nature of the Nibbana - the complete and final cessation of the suffering of a cyclic existence.
Lady Sayado always emphasizes that Nibbana is not just the highest reality, but also something that has great power. This power that is able to destroy the pollution of our mind and give us the highest peace and happiness. The strength of the nibbana manifests itself in both relative and absolute aspects. At the relative level of the Nibban, it gives temporary exemption from the influence of affects and the associated suffering, which is most clearly manifested in meditative immersion (Jachanes) At the absolute level, Nibban acts irreversibly, destroying the pollution of our mind once and for all. Thus, having destroyed the view of the ego at the stream, the power of Nibbana forever exempts them from the threat of incarnations into sorrowful destinies and guarantees final release for no more than seven incarnations.
