Using its special literary form, Renata Fox tells about the emigrant years of the Russian classic, the Nobel Prize laureate Ivan Alekseevich Bunin. Following her hero, she goes to Moscow, Paris and Grass, not adhering to strict chronology, since the book develops according to its own intriguing logic, where there is a place for artistic images, for personal thoughts, and for reporting notes. In one of the chapters, the author completely retreats into the shadow, giving his heroes the opportunity to speak in a full voice.
Fox managed to create an amazingly bright portrait of Bunin, a person from the flesh and blood, a familiar stranger for whom she was awarded and nominated for prestigious literary prizes of Poland.
