This publication includes a hitherto not published part of the epistolary heritage of an outstanding pianist and teacher Maria Veniaminovna Yudina (1899-1970) Correspondence covers the period of time between 1924 and 1970 and affects the main motives that sounded throughout its entire life path. Among its addressees are composers I. Stravinsky, S. Prokofiev and V. Bogdanov -Berezovsky, conductors A. Gauk, E. Mravinsky and G. Rozhdestvensky, musicologists P. Suvchinsky and P. Wulfius, harpist K. Erdeli, director Yu. Zavadsky , artist D. Mitrokhin, philologist Yu. Lotman. The consideration of the creative relationships of Yudina with the largest composers - Prokofiev and Stravinsky - are devoted to special articles by E. Wilson and K. Zenkin.
The book is supplemented by a list of works performed by Yudina and the main discography of the pianists.
The publication is addressed to professional musicians, as well as everyone interested in the history of Russian musical culture.
