Father Theodore was a talented student, and then a teacher of MDA, after the revolution of 1917 - one of the founders of the Petrograd Theological Institute, an uncompromising fighter with renovationism and one of the brighter figures of the Josephlyan movement. Being an outstanding shepherd and preacher of Petrograd of the 1920s, he enjoyed extraordinary love and veneration of the church people.
