The monograph is the first in Russian historical and philosophical literature a systematic study of the formation of the philosophy of religion and philosophical theology in Russian religious thought of the XIX-XX centuries. The main stages of the formation and development of basic ideas, concepts and methodological approaches proposed by representatives of religious and philosophical thought in the field of philosophy of religion and philosophical theology are traced, and their comprehensive analysis is carried out. In the first part of the work, the author turns to the consideration of the rethinking of basic religious concepts and ideas, theological ideas and church practices, carried out in the tradition of religious and philosophical thinking throughout the 19th-early XX centuries. Based on polemic oppositions in relation to spiritual-academic theology, on the one hand, and atheistic criticism of religion-on the other. In particular, the problems of relations between religion and rationality, religion and history, religion and atheism are discussed, as well as problems related to the idea of “dogmatic development”.
