The book “The History of the Catholic Church in Russia” publishes the White Stone Publishing House opens a new series of “Bins of History”. The purpose of this series is to unite books whose common theme is Russian Catholicism. At different key moments of the life of Russia, Catholics or Persons under the strong influence of Catholicism performed in the arena. As examples, it is worth recalling the names of the Yaropolk Izyaslavich, Solari and Fioravanti - the architects of the Kremlin and his Assumption Cathedral, the lackey troupe, who died with the royal family in Yekaterinburg, Chaadaev, Count Litta, Princess Konstantin Pavlovich, Prince Gagarin, philosopher Solovyev, philosopher Solovyev, The poet Ivanova, two Zinaid: Volkonskaya, who reigned in Moscow salons, and Serebryakova - artists, families of Benois, Shuvalovs, portraitist Orest Kiprensky - the author of the best portrait of Pushkin, C. Kui - one of the composers of the Mighty Pile, Decembrist Lunin, beauties of Samoilova, and Krasovitsa Samoilova and Cuisine Sin-Vyvgshtein, Petersburg architects Rastrelli, Rossi, Montferrand and Quarengi, Paul I with his Maltese, daughter of Stalin Svetlana and, finally, Metropolitan of Moscow Isidore, Bishop of Pari Jewish or Blessed Exarch Martyr Fedorov. As you can see, the theme of the series is extremely wide and interesting, there is a rich bibliography about it. Nevertheless, there are neither special series, nor libraries that would allow the amateur reader to quickly find the desired information, and the specialist to deepen and disseminate his knowledge. We would like that in this series a sufficient number of books about Russian Catholics would be released so that the reader could see that the contribution of Catholicism to the history of Russia was much more significant than it is considered, and that without the influence of Catholicism Russia would not be what it is today . The book “The History of the Catholic Church in Russia” in an accessible form tells about the life of the Catholics of Russia in different historical periods, about the relationship between the Catholic community and the authorities, as well as the role of the “Catholic factor” in the spiritual and external history of Russian Christianity as a whole.
