"History of Buddhism in India" was written in 1608 by the outstanding master of tradition Jonang Jetsun Taranatha (1575-1634) This book is one of the most important sources on the history of the spread and development of Buddhism in India. The author provides events in chronological order, considering them through the biographies of famous Buddhist teachers. In Tibetan, this work is called Rgya Gar Chos"byun, which means "History of Buddhism in India". However, the short name sounds like Dgos" Dod Kun"Byu, literally - "Treasure that fulfills desires". So, according to Taranatha, this composition gives a blessing leading to the fulfillment of any desires.
