The book provides the biographies of eleven women who left an important mark in the history of Buddhism. The heroines of the narratives lived in India and Tibet in the Middle Ages, when Vajrayana or Buddhist tantrism developed in those cultures. Meeting skilled teachers, women began practice and, thanks to their devotion and zeal, gradually reached high levels of knowledge of the nature of the mind. Subsequently, they trained compatriots, wrote philosophical works and manuals on meditation, some even founded their Buddhist schools that exist to the present day.
