Saint Paraskeva Friday has always enjoyed with special love and veneration among the Orthodox people. Many pious customs and rites are connected to her memory. In the ancient Russians, the name of the martyr is written as follows: St. Paraskev, named Friday. Temples in the name of St. Paraskev were called Fridays in antiquity. The name of the Fridays received small roadside chapels in the old days in Russia. A simple Russian people called the martyr Paraskev Friday, Pyatina, Petka.
