This two -volume edition is a commentary on the Gospel of Matthew, which is considered in the historical and theological perspective.
Having the first place in the corps of the New Testament, it is the Gospel of Matthew, as a rule, the first to introduce the reader to the events of earthly life, the sermon, the procession of death and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The central theme of this study is the human story of the Savior, and not the presentation of Orthodox Christology - the doctrine of Jesus as God and man. At the same time, constant attention is paid to the theological content of the gospel news and how the God -human personality of Jesus is revealed through the gospel text.
The author shows the historical context of the events described, leads to parallels with other three gospels, regularly addresses the interpretations of the Church fathers and analyzes the opinions of modern researchers
