140 years have passed since the death of Dostoevsky and the 200th anniversary of his birth. Hundreds of books and thousands of articles have been written about him. But for many, he continues to be a mystery.
The name of this book - "Gospel of Dostoevsky" - has a double meaning. It will be discussed not only about the Gospel that he read all his life, but also about the one he wrote. For his work was a "good news" for the Russian people - the prophetic and apostolic news of salvation through Christ.
Dostoevsky is one of the most difficult for understanding Russian writers. Like no one else, he makes the reader think, raising questions and not giving them direct answers. And the gospel is one of the keys with which the worldview of Dostoevsky opens. And the works of Dostoevsky can become for someone the key to the discovery of the gospel for themselves.
In this book, the Christian worldview of Dostoevsky is considered against the background of his biography and on the basis of his four novels: "Crime and Punishment", "Idiot", "Demons" and "Brothers Karamazov". Other works of his other works are involved as additional sources, including the novel “Teen”, “Writer’s Diary”, letters and notebooks, as well as memories of Dostoevsky of his relatives and friends.
