“Kindness” is one of the most famous collections of patristic texts in the Orthodox tradition. Initially, he was compiled by St. Macarius of Corinthian and edited by the Monk Nicodemus Svyatogorz at the end of the 18th century. Saint Feofan Zastezhensky (1815-1894) undertook a translation of the Greek "kindness" into modern Russian, at the same time reducing, but also significantly expanding the composition of the collection. The uniqueness of this publication lies in the fact that the quotes from the Holy Scriptures, which Saint Theophanes retained in his text in the Church Slavonic, are also given in Russian - in the canonical synodal translation
