From the history of the Ecumenical Councils of the IV and V centuries. - A book, written in 1882 by a wonderful church historian, honored professor of Moscow University, professor of the Moscow Theological Academy Aleksey Petrovich Lebedev (1845? 1908) in response to critical remarks on his doctoral dissertation Ecumenical Cathedrals of the IV and V centuries. From the professor of Moscow University Archpriest A.M. Ivantsov-Platonov. The genre of “anti-Critics” and scientific passion (almost youthful), the unevenness of personal relations with his opponent, allowed A.P. Lebedev to express in this work many important and interesting thoughts regarding both a given scientific topic and church-historical science in general and his own own creative method in particular. Many of them are relevant for today"s scientific situation. The study also gives an extensive additional and clarifying previous facts information on the history of the Ecumenical Councils of the IV and V centuries. In the book, in turn, the answer is placed. A. M. Ivantsova-Platonova, a new review of him the same A.P. Lebedev and applications regarding the history of this famous polemic.
