Georgy Arkadievich Shengeli (1894-1956) is primarily known as a brilliant poet. In the 1920s, he was a noticeable figure in the literary life of the capital. The need for additional earnings brought Schengeli in 1925 to the newspaper "Houcky", where he soon began to conduct the section of the judicial chronicle.
High performance, keen eye, sharp feather and legal training, undoubtedly, predetermined its specialization. From 1926 to 1927, Schengeli illuminated about 150 processes. His two publications were reflected in the classical novels of Ilf and Petrov.
Schengeli"s texts are brief and, thanks to the subtle observations and witty remarks of the author, an exciting guide for the trials of the dashing twenties. For a few exceptions, they will be recovered for the first time. The publication is equipped with a comment and illustrated by the author"s drawings of the defendants. The application publishes the essays and feuilleton Schengeli dated 1926 about the everyday life of the capital.
