Bishop of Elizabethgrad Khrisanf (Shchetkovsky, 1869-1906), was the Vicar of the Kherson diocese. Several years spent by the missionary in Korea (1899-1904) have become the time of the active preaching of Orthodoxy in this country, the creation of missionary camps, the beginning of the translating of the Holy Scriptures into Korean. His work was erected by the first Orthodox temple in Seoul.
