Fedor Augustovich Stepun (1884-1965), an outstanding philosopher, literary and theater critic, writer. Born on February 19, 1884 in Moscow in the family of a German manufacturer. Studied philosophy at the University of Heidelberg, defended his doctoral dissertation on the philosophy of the history of Vladimir
Solovyova. He was close to the Socialist-Revolutionaries and after the February Revolution worked in the political department of the military ministry, in 1922 he was expelled from Russia.
Since 1926, Fedor Stepun is a professor of sociology in Dresden, but in 1937 - deprived of the Nazis to teach and publish. Since 1946, he is a professor at the University of Munich, then his famous memoirs "former and unfulfilled", dedicated to the silver eyelid and the tragedy of 1917, come out.
Died in Munich on February 23, 1965
