The motto of the Order of St. George “For Service and Courage”, carried out in the title, inspired thousands and thousands of heroes who honestly and faithfully served our country. Among them were military priests, not only nourishing their flock on the battlefield, but, with a cross in his hand and the name of Christ on his lips, raising Russian soldiers on the attack on the enemy. This book is dedicated to them. To date, this is the most complete collection of biographical essays of priests granted by St. George awards from the time of the establishment of the Military Order of St. George until the end of the Civil War.
The narrative is not limited to the topic of the priest in the war, the life of the heroes can be traced within the limits that allow proven biographical data.
