In the real 1st volume of the works of an outstanding preacher and the famous church hierarch of the XVIII century. Metropolitan of the Moscow and Kolomensky Plato (Levshina) (1737-1812) included words and speeches, made by him in 1762-1768. The texts are published according to the latest gathering of collected works in 20 volumes (1779-1806), which now has become a bibliographic rarity, while preserving the author’s spelling and punctuation. The publication is equipped with extensive editorial comments and signs. The book is illustrated by the picturesque and graphic works of Russian artists of the second half of the XVIII century
