The publication is based on a course of lectures on the history of the Ecumenical Orthodox Church, read by the author in three higher educational institutions-initially for students of the church journalism group at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, then at the Russian Orthodox University and currently at the Orthodox Holy Tikhonovsky University. In the 1st book, the author will lead the reader from the era of the apostles, martyrs, theologians-condenses to the formation of Christianity as a state religion under the emperor Constantine. In the 2nd book, the author concerns the period of universal cathedrals, in which the dogmatic theology of the Church was formed. The readers will be held both by the defenders of Orthodoxy (hierarchs, faithful emperors, reverend), and heresiarchs, who later became the founders of the non-Halkidon churches. The 3rd book describes the events of the post-collection period in the history of the Ecumenical Church, which turned out to be fateful: the mission of St. Cyril and Methodius of Enlightenment of the Slavs, Baptism of Kyiv
