The author of the book "Essays on Orthodox Psychotherapy" Dmitry Avdeev is an Orthodox psychiatrist, psychotherapist, medical psychologist, candidate of medical sciences, professor, director of the Institute for the formation of Christian attitude to mental illness.
The book is the result of more than thirty years of medical activity of the author. From an Orthodox point of view, the causes of mental illness, neurosis, depression, insomnia, psychosomatic disorders, and child neurosis are considered. The spiritual causes of alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling and other dependent disorders are revealed. It tells about the meaning of diseases, sorrows and Christian attitude to them.
