The coursework of Archimandrite John the Krestyankin “Rev. Seraphim of the Sarovsky Miracle Worker and its significance for the Russian religious and moral life of that time”, written during the training of the future old man at the Moscow Theological Academy in the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra (1947-1950), is published for the first time. This work, the fruit of the reasoning of the priest John about the fate of monasticism and seniority, was of great importance for the spiritual formation of the future monk of God. Rev. Seraphim Sarov is a spiritual lighthouse on the path of Father John to monasticism. This saint was especially present in the life of the priest: twice through the Monk Seraphim, the Lord revealed his will to Priest John about him. The ideal of a light old man described in the essay, which was embarrassed by the “spirit of Miren”, full of bright Easter joy, who accepted the whole spiritually ill, exhausted Russia, and Father John himself embodied during his old age
