Elder-Miryan Theodore Sokolov and his environment

The book sheds light on the little -known pages of the history of the church life of the Vologda Territory in the post -revolutionary years. The main attention is focused on the personalities of the peasant -nominee Feodor Sokolov - a man of large spiritual talents, to whom believers turned to the prayer help during the period of mass closure of temples and repressions against the clergy. Theodore Sokolov is one of the elders, who, with their instructions, helped to preserve and strengthen the Orthodox faith during the persecution of the Church.
The first part of the book, prepared by the Doctor of Philology G. M. Prokhorov, was published in 2002 and became a bibliographic rarity. In the proposed edition, it is reprinted with small editing and reduction. The second part of the book, compiled by the nun Daniel (Nikitina), is published for the first time. This part included the diary of the spiritual daughter of the elder Theodore A. A. Volkova and other materials adjacent to him on the subject.
