The book of the hierarch of the Albanian Orthodox Church of Metropolitan Ignatius (Triantis) "Elder from the Patmos" collected evidence of the life and holiness of the 20th century as an ascetic of the Greek elder Amphilochium (Macrisa) (1889-1970) Being a inhabitant of the monastery of St. John the Theologian on the island of Patmos, he founded two convents, led an active educational, missionary and charitable activities in the Dodecanese Islands, even during the years of their occupation by Italians. His care and nourishment consisted of orphaned shelters, schools, charitable foundations.
