The purpose of this book is to reveal the figurative wealth of the Easter worship of the Orthodox Church. The publication consists of two sections. The first gives a "word to the Holy Easter" of St. Gregory the Theologian, who once inspired the Monk John Damaskin, the author of most Easter chants, and served as a literary and artistic basis for them. The second section contains the Holy Easter chants in the Church Slavonic language with a parallel Russian translation of the candidate of theology V.V. Chernov, made on the most affordable transmission of the literal meaning of these texts. For a better understanding of the images and plots contained in the Easter service from the Holy Scriptures and patristic creations, fragments of the corresponding sources are given after each of the chants, and the most complex places of service are explained in footnnings. The book also includes the gospel readings of the Holy Easter Day in Church Slavonic, Russian, Greek and Latin
