The collection is based on excerpts from letters and little -known works of St. Vasily the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom. In the book, the reader reveals not only the height of the spiritual life of the great teachers of the church, but also the close, understandable human side of their holiness. The main goal of this publication is to show the proximity of the great saints to the modern Christian, constrained by a storm of life circumstances and experiences. Touching the life experience of universal saints, discovered in such an unusual form of simplicity and sincerity, inspires us to an honest and selfless struggle with any difficulties in our spiritual life.
