Ancient society and Christianity were among themselves in a complex relationship: confrontation and interaction, cooperation and mutual denial, mutual influence and fundamental disagreements - all this was closely intertwined. The monograph sets out how an actively spreading early Christian movement was used by the Institute of Antique College for its purposes. The cities in which Christians lived were full of private communities, which in their functions were close to modern fraternities and trade unions. Christian ecclesia appears in an ancient policy as one of the similar colleges. This approach to the study of early Christian communities helps to see both typical, which was related to Ecclesia with private unions of antiquity, and that unique that distinguished Christianity and ultimately led to its historical victory.
