The book examines church life in the Tashkent and Central Asian diocese in the period 1943-1961, covering 17 years between two stages of open persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church from the Soviet state. The church life of the Tashkent diocese in these years is a unique phenomenon for the Russian Orthodox Church in the Soviet period. Thanks to the hosts of confessors and ascetics of faith, both representatives of the clergy and laity, including members of the Orthodox communities and fraternities, primarily the swordsman community, the Alexander Nevsky Brotherhood, the monastic communities of the Kiev Pechersk, the Pochaev Lavr and other monasteries, here There was a rise in church life that took place against the backdrop of the oppression of the church by the authorities. The study used archival materials, as well as memories and oral evidence of participants in the church life of those years. A number of archival documents and evidence of eyewitnesses are published for the first time in applications to the monograph.
